“We stayed at Achill Guest House for one night before starting a canal boat trip from Alvechurch Marina. We appreciated that it is a family-run guest house with a funky charm one doesn’t find in a chain hotel, even if the walls are a little thin and we could hear our neighbors a little bit. Bed on the soft side but still slept well. “The hotel is situated in wonderful grounds. The room we had was spacious and clean. Would have preferred a larger shower than an oversized bathtub though! The staff were extraordinarily friendly and attentive. The food was incredible and some of the best we have had at any hotel. Great place to use as a base while in the area. They have set the bar extremely high, just hope they can maintain it!”

“The hotel has not much service. Hotel room Is spacious. But they always forgot to give you shampoo or shower gel. Room is not very clean. For the price they charge, is a bit overpriced. Also, there is not enough car parking spaces at hotel. It all depends your luck can park at the hotel. The car park is outsourced to other company. So the hotel staff don’t really care your car. Is a bit ridiculous. ”

“A stunning hotel with a lot of charm and character. Quiet and peaceful. Located about out the way but staff were wonderful and friendly. Nothing was too much if you asked them for anything. A wonderful place to stop. Every meal was lovely and I would recommend the food from the stone and ivy to anyone. ”

“Beautiful gardens and lovely terrace for drinks. staff were fab, special thanks to Stuart on reception for being polite, attentive and very professional. Imanii, in Sencha, the asian themed restaurant was super polite, warm and welcoming and gave good recommendations as to the food we were ordering. she worked hard to keep everyone served quickly and professionally. ”
