“Very economical hotel but whilst it is immaculately clean and tidy. Previous users have treated it badly and it shows”

“Hired a twin room for the night whilst staying with my daughter after a previous bad experience at a different hotel. The room was clean, the TV worked and the pressure in the shower was nice to me. Stopped for a beer in the pub (noise from which was not heard in the room) and the ladies working were polite and helpful. I felt I received good value for money, I would happily return and would be glad to recommend to others”

“Situated next to A38 it is a very easy access hotel for a night if you are travelling to the Midlands. The room we had was spacious and comfy!”

“We stayed at Pinewood Lodge for 7 days split over 2 weeks. The area was lovely , very quiet. There is a number of lodges , each having everything you need from a fridge to a microwave, fresh clean towels and bedding, breakfast croissants were provided which was a nice touch and also some milk- again lovely touch. The beds were fine - slightly uncomfortable, however, given the amount of people who sleep on them this i guess is a given at times. Heating was great, easy to increase or decrease……

“We stayed 2 nights in a 2nd floor room over looking the courtyard. The staff were all very welcoming & friendly. The breakfast had a good variety, nice and hot & cooked well which is not always the case for buffet style breakfasts. The location is good for the Peak District. Plenty of parking & although due to weather we were not able to enjoy it, the outside area was very pretty. The bathroom could benefit from a little work. Overall Good Location, welcome staff, excellent breakfast.”

“The room was fine. Money has obviously been spent on updating the hotel, maybe a bit more needs to be spent to improve things. For example, the bathroom had been upgraded, new bath, hand basin, shower; but the tiling and grouting had not been finished. Also the bath was very slippery so maybe provide a bath mat. Also, we were only provided with two bath towels, no hand towels or bath mat. As we only stayed one night, it wasn’t a problem but for longer stays, the additional towels would have been……

“The Vine the oldest coaching inn in Staffordshire. We were given a warm welcome and allowed to check-in early as they had a room available. We were asked about breakfast and we needed information on gluten free items as my husband is Coeliac, they kindly provided a separate sheet with the options on. Although the building is old the room was clean and the large bed very comfortable. The bathroom was large and the shower adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.”
