We read some reviews prior to booking and a few people mentioned the homeless in the area which is true but to be expected of a downtown city in my opinion. We thought the room was updated and in great condition, sure the carpet looks a little old, but not a concern by any means. You stay at a hotel like the Magnolia for the character and charm. We had a great overall experience with friendly staff. ”
