“We came to Excellence El Carmen for our honeymoon! We had one initial hiccup with some racists, less than classy wannabe African American gangster guys and wives. It was like stare down and intimidation for hours just because my Caucasian husband was happy and dancing. I don’t know who comes to a classy resort and acts like this, it was ridiculous to the point I had to call Excellence security fearing these racists would jump him and I in their night club. “Cleanest and friendliest resort we've ever stayed at. Large staff who almost always say hello while walking past and are attentive to YOUR needs. Very good food quality, very clean and not over-chlorinated pools. Nice low volume ambient music plays along walkways. No air traffic from airport. Rooms are super comfortable and a very good size. “This hotel was hands down the best I have stayed at in Punta Cana. As a solo traveler, I always felt welcomed! Loved the fact that they have a vegan menu at all of their restaurants which I so appreciated! Service is top notch and the resort surroundings are well kept and beautiful!
