“Well located in the centre of Hexham, this is a nice hotel close to a lot of Hadrian’s wall visitor sites. We stayed in a superior room, which nice enough. It was a bit noisy, mainly because the room was next to the lift and sound transmitted very easily through the gaps around the door. With a little bit of sound proofing, the room would have been excellent.”

“A lovely countryside farmhouse b and b. The landlady is friendly and helpful, keen to make sure all your needs are met. My room was very comfortable, clean, warm and well appointed. “Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ). “I mean, Northumberland is a beautiful place, and this property was no less beautiful. It is the most eco-conscious hotel we've ever stayed in, with it's own garden, solar panels. and I believe a rain catcher? There's so much wildlife in the area, bird feeders and cats roaming around. We got lucky and there was a bit of clear sky our second night, so we headed to the observatory and got to spots some stars since it's in a Dark Sky Park. The worst hotel stay in the entire trip

"Extremely poor service and stay. We were given a smaller room than we had asked for (images do not match the actual state of the room), and the air conditioner is broken; we were provided with fans but we do not have proper ventilation in our room, causing the room to be very hot and stuffy, and after taking a shower the room becomes very damp. Television does not work, and the fans aren't very good. There are also insect stains on the bedding. Service is misleading, we were told that our check out was at noon however we were urged to leave as soon as 11am came by, asking to charge us for overstaying in the hotel. Our belongings were held at the lobby as well because of this, and the staff were reluctant to return our belongings. Extremely disappointed at the service and conditions of the hotel, will not recommend it to anyone."
