“A lovely countryside farmhouse b and b. The landlady is friendly and helpful, keen to make sure all your needs are met. My room was very comfortable, clean, warm and well appointed. “Arrived at the lodge and was greeted by 2 lovely hosts who showed us to our room and was very helpful and told us some very interesting facts about the lodges (an all girls school built before the ww2 I do believe ). The room was very clean and beautiful inside and the small window behind the bed overlooked the forest behind which was beautiful. “I mean, Northumberland is a beautiful place, and this property was no less beautiful. It is the most eco-conscious hotel we've ever stayed in, with it's own garden, solar panels. and I believe a rain catcher? There's so much wildlife in the area, bird feeders and cats roaming around. We got lucky and there was a bit of clear sky our second night, so we headed to the observatory and got to spots some stars since it's in a Dark Sky Park. “My stay was really enjoyable. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The building itself is full of character. Food is hearty and comes in large portions ! ”

“Well located in the centre of Hexham, this is a nice hotel close to a lot of Hadrian’s wall visitor sites. We stayed in a superior room, which nice enough. It was a bit noisy, mainly because the room was next to the lift and sound transmitted very easily through the gaps around the door. With a little bit of sound proofing, the room would have been excellent.”
