“Lovely one night stay in this characterful, olde worlde pub, which has undergone recent refurbishment in a very sympathetic manner, therefore the pub itself, rooms & bathrooms are modern with lovely decor. We received a very warm welcome and all the staff we met were very helpful & accommodating. Rooms are accessed via a separate entrance (due to age of the property steps & paths are a little uneven in places) Very clean & spacious (our shower was huge) with lovely sea views. Well stocked……

“The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food. Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent. I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes”

“Owners have done a beautiful work on renovating the place, chick style with lovely furniture in the lobby, dining area, corridors and the garden, loved it. Premises have got a small bar/lounge service with a good range of non-alcoholic proper drinks (pop-in even if you are staying in the surrounding places). Friendly staff. “The location is not good, far away from the city center. The room is not very clean. The staff will not let you feel welcome. The car park is not on site the hotel, need to walk to the public car parking , walk 5-7 mins. I will not stay at this hotel again. ”

“Our experience at this hotel was excellent. The lady assisting us to check in was very nice. She showed us around the hotel facilities and gave my kids swimming toys. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel had three swimming pool, one indoor and two outdoor. My kids really enjoyed the pool. In addition, the included breakfast was delicious. This hotel definitely deserves that we come back.”

“Everything was smooth, and service above and beyond. I did not personally love the layout of the rooms especially in terms of plugs, as these could be difficult to find (even behind someone's head on the bed headboard), however this is a very tiny thing and generally speaking everything went well and was easy. Breakfast was delicious and service attentive. Thank you”

“We stayed overnight with kids. Staff were amazing, so friendly, the room was super clean and spacious for a family. The whole building has such a charm! Our kids loved the heated pool, the gardens (they had a mini golf field, giant check game on the floor and a kids play area) and the local pub was walking distance. The walk to the beach was so beautiful through the chine! Oh we had such an amazing time!”
