“Paid over $600 US for three people, decided to leave San Pedro earlier than planned due to harassment by hawkers, emailed Amelias explaining would not be checking in, told no problem, go to hotel in person before arrival date for full refund. Went two days before, was told by owners wife there was no record of my booking, no record of my payment or my name, the rooms were already re-rented, and to discuss it with her husband, who was out of country and unavailable.”

“My husband and I walked from the water taxi to the Great House Inn - hot but less than 8 minutes (with our luggage), so appreciated the location. Reception was on 2nd floor, but as soon as we got there, an attendant took all our luggage up. Receptionist was awesome and SUPER helpful. Room was very spacious and clean -quaint We used the pool and upper deck facilities. We ordered take-out from the upper deck, and WIFI was spotty, so receptionist came and got us when it was ready. “Beautiful property, lovely experience but also not what we expected. I would consider this more of a working ranch than a resort, as we felt like it's more setup for locals to Belmopan and cowboys than it is to the average traveler. Nice food, good overall value. Kind of a strange cowboy guy who apparently owns the property who was a little overly friendly to my girlfriend out of the blue. However seems that locals love him and have good things to say. If you're up for something a bit different……

“Beck's Bed & Breakfast is a sweet jewel of a place in a remote region of the Crooked Tree Wildlife Refuge (a birder's paradise). Robert and Becky are warm, incredibly knowledgable hosts and provide a respite from the hustle and bustle of vacation stress and more tourist dense areas. If you love birds and plants and two sweet dogs you will love staying here. They had Christmas decorations galore so we didn't miss out on the Christmas spirit. We wish we could have stayed longer. “The staff are very friendly though the service is variable and often slow. The furniture in the rooms needs updating. Inconsistent pricing with the wines. Different price in the bar to the restaurant. 30 dollor difference. They had ran out of a Cantena Alta Malbec and offered as a standard Catena Malbec at the same price, despite representations from us that this was clearly wrong. We feel the tours are over priced.
