“We loved our stay at La Villa Retreat! Everything from the way we were greeted with a wine tasting our first night, to the beautiful grounds, to our well appointed room, to the lovely breakfasts made it a great stay. One cool night we requested that the staff light the fire in our fireplace so it would be warm when we returned. Returning after dinner to a room lit by the fireplace was just delightful. If it wasn't so far away, we'd happily return often for a couple's getaway!”

“We had a wonderful 3 nights stay. Beautiful surroundings and a lovely setting at the restaurant to enjoy a delicious breakfast. Our room was large with a lovely bathroom. It was quiet and cool so barely needed to use the AC. But what made it such a wonderful place to stay were the amazing staff, who were so friendly and helpful they truly made our stay very special. Can’t wait to stay again. ”

“All the rooms are different but all are good-sized. Our room has double bathroom sinks, a large shower, a chaise lounge in addition to two armchairs. Very comfy. The breakfasts are excellent! Their so-called mini-continental is big enough to fill up most people: fresh baked muffin, croissant, fresh fruit, cheeses& meats, yogurt, juice, coffee. But you can also add eggs Benedict, omelette, shashuska, French toast— all included! We were in the winter but I can see how nice it’d be to enjoy their……

“The staff at this hotel are amazing. Very helpful and really friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The room we had was beautiful and always clean. We had a turndown each night with a little surprise that was left for us like chocolate, hot chocolate etc. This is a must hotel if you are staying in Franschhoek. Great location also.”

“We were greeted like part of the family, the room was HUGE (room 5) and the location was perfect. Walked about 15 min to wine tram and there were plenty of restaurants around (Allora had great Italian food!) Breakfast was wonderful, staff was so friendly! Wish we could have stayed longer but we highly recommend this property!”

The best breakfast of all the bed-and-breakfast we stayed at. We had eggs Florentine. We definitely stay here again.”
