“We stayed for 2 nights and had the best time - The room was lovely and spacious with everything we could need in there - the lovely shower was fantastic too (not one of those that hardly wets you that you find in some places!) We ate from the lunchtime menu not long after we arrived and had a salad later in the evening - bot delicious and really fresh. “Staff, food, wine, accommodation all excellent. Very individual customer focused. Well worth the cost. Could do with some renovations which are likely to follow (broken uneven paving) otherwise nicely maintained. A relaxed stay. Perhaps breakfast quality could improve a shade and bath with shower over a bit basic for this pitch. But overall great. ”

“My wife & I decided we needed a "just the two of us" getaway, & this establishment flashed up as a great deal for our time-frame. it's easy to reach off the M4, which was great, & even on a Friday evening it wasn't a bark to get to even though we were expecting commuter traffic. We were quickly checked in & allocated our room (#8, ground floor rear of the court yard, nearest the car park!). We weren't at all disappointed with the quality, size & comfort of this recently decorated haven. Lovely……

“Had a great stay at The Bear Hotel. Love its charm and the feel of a true English hotel. It’s been here 500+ years. We stayed in a front room that looked over the Wantage Market Square. The room was fine, very clean, and the bed was comfy. However if you are tall, like over 5’ 9” you must watch your head and you probably won’t fit in the shower. Staff were all excellent! Love the breakfast that came with the room, delicious!”
