“This was a one night stop over only so hard to make fair judgements. But after an exhausting day the large comfortable bed and bedding were very welcome. Our room was noisy though from the adjoining room with the sound from the TV on from 7am when we were desperate for a lie in. We had no shower products in the bathroom and the flush on the toilet was dodgy. Breakfast was freshly cooked and adequate - just need to keep supplies topped up. “The welcome was very friendly as was the Service. The room was sizeable with plenty of space and some nice unique decor. There were a couple of areas that need a little maintenance and just a dab of paint to tidy up here and there. Location was ideal for us although it is located next to a fairly busy road if road traffic is something that annoys you. Overall, for us, it was a pleasant stay for what we were looking for.”

“Had a great stay at The Bear Hotel. Love its charm and the feel of a true English hotel. It’s been here 500+ years. We stayed in a front room that looked over the Wantage Market Square. The room was fine, very clean, and the bed was comfy. However if you are tall, like over 5’ 9” you must watch your head and you probably won’t fit in the shower. Staff were all excellent! Love the breakfast that came with the room, delicious!”
