“This hotel has a very nice view and is a great choice for shooting or watching the stars. Their service staff is very friendly and will assist you very well with things to do at the top of the mountain to fix inconveniences. The rooms are slightly smaller than similarly priced hotels, but I think the starry sky at night definitely makes up for it, and the balcony on the side of the house offers a great starry sky experience. “The location was wonderful. Convenient to historic downtown Durango, but not in the middle of traffic congestion and noise. The front desk clerks, Doug and Stephanie, were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The dining area, for morning breakfast, was clean and well maintained by dining staff. “Parking in the back looked a bit on the dark side (i’m small female travelling alone) but the receptionist noted I could park along the curb out front where there’s much more light and closer to the front entrance — I wouldn’t have to enter from the back or side. He was very kind and reassuring. The room had everything I needed and the lobby was stocked with iced water, which not every hotel has these days! Pet fee was also $35, which I feel is reasonable.
