“A lovely old inn, upgraded and updated to offer all of the contemporary comforts one might want, including free WiFi /Internet. The room was medium size, with a queen /double bed and wonderfully illuminated bb its skylight. The bed and bed linens were outstanding; couldn’t be better. The pub & restaurant were as charmingly English as a Yank could want and the food was very good. I would return in a heartbeat, given the opportunity, and recommend it to any single or couple. “The Bay Tree House was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable; Gary was friendly and helpful; and the location is a short walk to town. I also walked to both of Thomas Hardy’s homes. Max Gate was a leisurely ten minutes away; the cottage was a longer walk, but the route through the Dorset countryside was indescribably beautiful.”
