“We loved our stay here! We stayed in the La Sirena suite which is at the very top of the building. Below I list some 'cons' but they weren't really cons - more of considerations for those who might be sensitive to certain factors. Pros: - Excellent location - relatively chill block but close to so much. - R Bar on the ground floor is a great no frills neighborhood bar with mix of locals and tourists. Lively but not overly crowded, superb staff, and old school movies playing on the big screen.……

“The beds were very comfortable. We hate the barn doors for the bathroom. It seems like all the newer hotels have them and its the stupidest thing. Everyone can hear you in there and the light wakes everyone up in the night. And to top it off, there's only a shower with a glass door so if you need to go and someones in the shower, forget about it. It was a nice place, we felt safe, great location and we loved the 2 king beds. Really the only negative is the bathroom. Tip: the bathrooms downstairs……

“I want to discourage everyone from staying at the Royal Frenchman… in order to keep this place to myself! Don’t stay here if want a modern hotel, with many modern amenities, lacking in character and charm. Don’t stay if colorful staff with a passion for the music of New Orleans ( which they bring nightly to the hotel lobby or courtyard) is not your thing. Don’t stay if listening to music wafting in from Frenchman street late into the night seems annoying. But you have a passion for the people,……
