“Lovely hotel in the quiet market town of Thame, on the High Street with parking to the rear. Friendly staff and great rooms, comfortable, clean and well equipped. Breakfast in the morning was good. A great stay.”

“The hotel is in a very picturesque setting in rural Chenies. We had a spacious, spotless room and a large ensuite bathroom with shower. Everything was in good condition and the sheets and towels were of excellent quality. Having a fridge was also very useful. The evening meal was tasty, though the choices were limited, as there had been problems with deliveries. The full English breakfast the next morning was plentiful and delicious. “My experience at the George Hotel was interesting. My room, the James Bond Room, was large (verging on very large and nicely equipped. The housekeeping could have been better with cobwebs hanging on the window frames. The staff were very young and quite inexperienced and I’m not keen on establishments that don’t take cash. The bar prices were eye wateringly high for a ‘coaching inn’. I didn’t eat at the George as I had a family dinner arranged elsewhere. I was pleased as the menu, in the main,……

“Perfect location, gentle walk into town, lots of restaurants to eat at within minutes. Room big enough and certainly warm, clean and presentable. The shower was amazingly powerful, and hot water didn't take an age to come through. Nice car park round the back, with on street if that was full. For what we required is fitted the bill exactly.”
