“Barrister Square was an excellent home base for our family’s trip to DC and Alexandria. Convenient to the metro and trolley, as well as walking distance to cafes and restaurants on King St, we were spoiled by this location. Inside, the beds were comfortable, A/C took the edge off the heat, and the building was quiet. Would choose again! ”

“Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I love the fact that the restaurant was walking distance. They had an outside bar, pool and room’s balcony was just a peaceful environment. I did not like that the cottage community patio trash was overflowing and my room was super dusty. You could tell sweeping/swiffer was not done and a previous person‘s shoes were found under the bed.”

“This is the reservation to get if you want to stay in Virginia. We absolutely loved it. It does not hurt that it has the most beautiful backyard with the most incredible view of the water. It is so calming and it felt like we were at a yoga retreat. The house itself is beautiful, and I will say that the furniture is a little bit older, but to me that was part of the charm. “We had an amazing time at the purple door! We wrre able to brimg our fur baby which was a HUGE plus. After reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. I arrived knowing we made a good choice. Its a very cute little place. There was never a claim to be a luxury, upscale rental. Yes there could be a few updates. The air conditioner worked fine for us in a heatwave. “Maria was the most Amazing Host ever. She helped me out in every way possible for my one night stay. The house was very clean and all the beds are so comfy. Stain on couch but no big deal at all. I was just extremely comfortable and it felt like home. I wish we had more time in the house. Although it was 10 of us we made the one bathroom situation easy. The house literally had everything you could possibly think of. My only recommendation is to get a portable AC unit for the garage where the……
