“Right in the middle of the High Street so very convenient. Parking is 5 minutes walk. A traditional pub with rooms above. Our room was very compact and overlooked the storage yard which meant that, with the window open, there was noise from moving beer barrels around. It wasn’t very noisy but is probably not great if you want an early night and you’re a light sleeper. ”

“Set in a lovely situation, away from all the hustle & bustle! The woodland walk on property that we asked about was actually no longer accessible, but just walking along the long driveway provided nice views of the countryside and flower-farm in the distance! We made use of the bar menu for our evening meal, and the breakfast buffet was good. The spa (Sunday daytime) was very quiet which was perfect. The staff were really nice and friendly. “Great stay, very comfy but just to say the Snug Room is very snug, we are used to a king size bed, so a double up against the wall was a bit too cosy for us. Restaurant lovely and we would definitely stay again but probably pay for the next room size up.”

“Excellent for a one night stay prior to a cruise. Hostess was very responsive and helpful. Disliked nothing but was not aware that my room would be upstairs, a flight of many stairs so that my main suitcase spent the night downstairs. ”

“I was concerned after reading reviews but need not of worried , it is basic but with everything you need , it was clean and so quiet and its a short walk to the shop , it was so quiet had no problem sleeping , i will remember to take batteries for the tv remote as had to keep getting up to change the channel when asked house keeping never had spare ones , but apert from that we had kettle and tea and coffee supplied and toiletries, over all an enjoyable stay and i didnt want to leave , will……

“Close to Cathedral. Quaint interesting pub with outdoor seating. Friendly staff. Good food. Lovely room with fridge, Dyson fan, iron and ironing board. Nice bathroom. Great shower and lovely tub, and lots of products. Special thanks to staff for being so helpful. Listed building so no lift. ”
