“I want to discourage everyone from staying at the Royal Frenchman… in order to keep this place to myself! Don’t stay here if want a modern hotel, with many modern amenities, lacking in character and charm. Don’t stay if colorful staff with a passion for the music of New Orleans ( which they bring nightly to the hotel lobby or courtyard) is not your thing. Don’t stay if listening to music wafting in from Frenchman street late into the night seems annoying. But you have a passion for the people,……

“Such a great stay! Some of the staff were excellent to work with and have conversations with. The room was large and quaint. The pool was secluded and fairly quiet. Convenient location for walking to eat and explore. The only issue we had was the shower only out out hot water and we couldn’t take a shower because it was too hot. They told us the plumber could not come on the weekend. We had the option to switch to a queen room or keep or king room. Apart from that issue this was a great place……

“This is a magnificent place to stay in New Orleans. I stayed here one for a wedding and since then I don’t look anywhere else for a room if the Frenchmen is available. There’s not much to the place except nice old rooms at a great location. The rooms can feel a bit bare and some fixtures are old but that’s part of the charm for us. Excellent pool and hot tub. Highly recommend. ”

“Perfect retreat for my celebration of life trip to NOLA! The Bunk House room is a gem with its unique, solid bunk bed and dreamy wall art creating a magical ambiance. Though not large, the room is thoughtfully organized, feeling spacious and functional. The powerful AC and fan were lifesavers in the heat, and the shower's water pressure was incredible after city explorations. Loved the practical touches - great coffee maker, mini-fridge and microwave for storing late-night po' boys from NOLA……

“Absolutely loved this historic guesthouse. The rooms are along the perimeter of an enclosed courtyard area with a pool in the center. The room was on the smaller side but very comfortable with ice cold AC and a ceiling fan. The location couldn't have been more convenient in terms of walkability, while still being away "enough" for the hustle and bustle of some of the busier streets in the French Quarter. They offer a private parking lot for $40/night but we were able to find free street parking……

“We had a suite and there was plenty of room. We enjoyed the sitting area. The pool and hot tub area were very nice. The check in staff was so friendly. We loved it was historical. Be aware it is historical and although there have been upgrades, it is an older home. Overall it was great and we would return. ”

“This hotel is all about location. walking distance to everything you want to experience about French Quarter.--- Fresh Market, Frenchmen Street (which I loved- music, dancing, great restaurants). Bourbon Street (not so much- unless you're one of the young, obnoxious drunks), I would say this hotel would be a gem if the rooms were updated. a little paint and caulk would go a long way. The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets had stains and holes. The tub and shower curtain had mildew,……

“The hotel is great. Spacious and clean, with a kitchenette. I can prepare some food for my kids. The location is comparatively far from the main area of the city, but the environment is fine. Opposite to the hotel is a Navy Base so I think the safety can be guarantteed. No breakfast service, and the WIFI is weak.”
